Accessibility Policy
Walter Kerr Theatre wants everyone to be able to enjoy their shows and events That is why they offer the following Accessible features and offers to adhere to ADA requirements. Please note that Walter Kerr Theatre does not have elevators or escalators.
Assistive Devices
Walter Kerr Theatre offers assistive devices for the blind, deaf, and those with hearing issues. These devices include D-Scriptive devices for the blind, I-Caption devices for the deaf, and infrared headsets to enhance sound and dialogue. If you would require an assistive device for your scheduled show or event, you can visit the headset booth in the Orchestra lobby. You will need a valid state-issued photo ID as a deposit.
Accessible Restrooms
Wheelchair accessible restrooms are unisex and available on the main level. The
men’s and women’s restrooms are located 19 steps up from the Orchestra and
are not wheelchair accessible.
Applause Policy
Audiences tend to wait until all movements or sections of a piece are complete before clapping.
Children Policy
Most Walter Kerr Theatre productions are suitable for audiences of all ages. However, some productions use explicit language and themes that may be upsetting to younger viewers. Please consult the show guide or call customer service at 877-250-2929 to ask about the recommended ages for your upcoming event.
Coat Check Policy
There is no coat check available. Large bags may be checked with theatre staff for a fee of $3 per item.
Dress Policy
Some patrons do dress up for their visit to the theatre, but Walter Kerr Theatre does not have a dress code. The theatre is kept cool year-round, so keeping a sweater available is popular among repeat visitors.
Food and Beverage Policy
Walter Kerr Theatre does not allow outside food or drink in the theatre. You can visit any of the bars available on all levels of the theatre for drinks and snacks.
Late Arrival Policy
Walter Kerr Theatre events and shows have prompt start times indicated on your tickets and programs. Late arrivals may be asked to wait in the lobby or denied entry per management decision. If you are asked to wait, you will only be allowed entry at appropriate break periods during the event.
To avoid frustration, Walter Kerr Theatre recommends that you arrive no later than 30 minutes before your scheduled event, so you have plenty of time to complete security screening as well as to find your seat.
Lost and Found Policy
Have you lost something during your visit to the Walter Kerr Theatre? Then please call customer service at 877-250-2929. When you call, please be ready to leave a detailed message with your name, full contact information, detailed description of the lost item, and the date and time of the performance you attended. Theatre staff will get back to you as soon as possible.
Photography and Video Policy
Photography, video, and audio recording, radios, or any other playback device are prohibited in Walter Kerr Theatre.
Prohibited Items
To adhere to state and federal law, copyright law, and license regulations, Walter Kerr Theatre prohibits the following items from the theater. Please note that entry requires security screening so please allow extra time for their procedure.
- Weapons of any kind
- Outside food and beverages
- Photography, Video, Sound recording equipment
- Drugs or any illegal substances
While cellphones, watches, and watch alarms are not prohibited, patrons are asked to make sure these devices are off during the performance. Any disruption caused by these devices may result in patrons being asked to leave the theatre.
Event staff reserves the right to inspect your bags or ask you to check your bags before your scheduled performance.
Smoking Policy
Walter Kerr Theatre does not allow smoking anywhere on the premises. This includes cigars, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, and other similar devices or paraphernalia.
