The altered theatrical adaptation of the musical, crafted under Chavkin's supervision, premiered Off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop on May 6 and performed until July 31. The production subsequently traveled to Edmonton and London before making its grand debut on Broadway in March 2019.
